Fabulous restaurant. A truly Roman family run restaurant. Was our favorite restaurant in Roman. Food was so flavorful and service great. Was fun watching how all the food was prepared. The pasta was freshly made and so light. Delicious desserts.

First ate here 22 years ago on my honeymoon. It’s so good, it stuck in my mind and I sought it out this trip to Rome. Same family still running it. Food is outstanding, everything we had was delicious. Service was attentive and not overbearing. Quiet and intimate setting. Highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area.

We stumbled into Alvaro Al Circo Massimo on our last night in Rome… turned into a night we will never forget. This restaurant is 3 generations of family. The atmosphere is authentic Italian and feels like you’re in someone’s cozy kitchen!! The food was delicious, the service was exceptional and the family that owns the restaurant was warm and inviting and made us feel right at home! We just had the best time. Thank you Angelo and Gianmarco! (Favorite dishes were the caprese salad, ravioli special, spaghetti with clams and spaghetti with lobster sauce.) You must end the night with the limoncello dessert - amazing!

Fabulous food. A truly Roman experience, family run restaurant. Super pasta dishes, even teenagers approved. The best tiramisu in Rome. Great wine. Welcoming and friendly, we loved it. Great value. Might not look so welcoming, but go in, you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic family trattoria. We arrived late (3pm) after a long morning visiting the Coliseum, Palatine Hill and Forum. Sunday lunch was in full swing as we secured the last table. Everything we ordered was perfect, from beefsteak to beef in red wine and roasted lamb, as well as lasagna and spaghetti for the kids. House wine was excellent for €15. Desserts were delicious, especially the crema catalana. But the finest thing was seeing the family matriarch emerge from the kitchen to take care of the finest details. A real family affair.

A lovely meal! A family restaurant with old pictures on the walls. Steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare & delicious. Shrimp were delicious. Pasta was Al dente with a flavorful sauce. The house white wine was perfect & not too sweet, for 10 euro. Overall the price was reasonable. If you want simple but well-executed Italian cooking this is your place.

Family run the restaurant. Food is good, not too fancy, which we like it. The house white wine is €10. It is pretty good. We finished the bottle in first course. Have a nice selection dessert.
